WHAT DOES THE REMODELING PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Here in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, Upgrade Construction follows a very specific process to get you exactly what you want out of your project that we guarantee works every time. We call it Design/Build, a process that is intended to make you, the homeowner, a very active participant in the process of design. It allows us to implement your "vision" exactly as you see it. This process is completed before we hammer a single nail.
Step 1: It all starts with a call. This call will take about 30 minutes and will include discussions about your goals for the project; design ideas, budgets, and scheduling. Upgrade Construction wants to make sure we are a good fit for one another. Our #1 goal is to build a house or remodel a room in a way that will make your whole family feel at home.
Step2: A time for a free in-house consultation will be scheduled. This is a good time for you to work with our staff and communicate your vision. Hard measurements will be taken as the project's details are discussed. Sometimes the design contract may even be signed immediately.
Step 3: All of the products, fixtures, materials, colors, and finishes will be selected and confirmed. This entire process makes sure that your budget is maximized, while keeping the design intact.
Step 4: The construction contract is signed, start date is set, and the work begins!

IS IT OKAY TO VISIT MY HOME DURING THE PROJECT?

It's not only OK, we encourage it. We want you to know as much about your home as we do. There are many decisions to be made along the way, and we want our clients to know we are here to guide and help you, as well as discuss any of your questions and concerns.

IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE TO BUILD A CUSTOM HOME?

Not necessarily. It depends on your tastes and the choices you make for your home. A speculative builder may choose finishes or products that are less expensive to keep the price competitive and his building risk lower. If you choose the same quality of finishes and materials, your home would be in the same price range.

WHAT KINDS OF PERMITS DO I NEED? AND WHO DOES THE INSPECTIONS?

Upgrade Construction is a full-service contractor. You will not have to take out any permits. We take care of that for you. We apply for all of the permits needed and the inspections that go with that. The inspectors come from the city or county depending on the location of the job.
